Headed to Green River Lake?
Make a Stop Downtown.

Green River Lake State Park is one of Kentucky’s most beautiful destinations — and downtown Campbellsville is just a few miles north. Whether you’re looking for a great meal after a day on the water, a place to browse local shops, or a bit of history to round out your trip, Main Street is worth the detour.

Campbellsville has been a central Kentucky gathering place since 1817. The historic downtown sits within a National Register Historic Commercial District and is home to locally owned restaurants, boutiques, and services — the kind of places you won’t find on the highway.

A Suggested Half-Day
on Main Street

Morning or Early Afternoon

Start on Main Street. Park on the street or in one of the free lots nearby — parking is easy and free throughout downtown. Grab coffee or a bite at one of our local spots, then take a walk along the historic streetscape. Keep an eye out for the community mural and the distinctive towers of the Taylor County Justice Center and the Campbellsville University chapel visible just a few blocks away.

Midday

Lunch is easy on Main Street — there are several locally owned dining options within walking distance of each other. After lunch, browse the shops. You’ll find gift shops, specialty retailers, and locally made goods.

Late Afternoon

If you have time and your group is up for it, we suggest taking a stroll on the Pitman Creek Trail. It’s located a very short drive from Main Street and is a great way to stretch your legs before heading back to the lake. The trail is accessible from the Miller Park area and is popular with walkers, joggers, and cyclists.
